New year, New month, New devlog!


First and foremost, we hope everyone is having a good new year so far and that y’all’s Christmas (or whatever floats your boat) went well. NOW, let’s get into things, huh? Here we are, new year, new month, new devlog!

I’d like to take a second here to talk a little bit about the new episode, the work we’re doing on it, and some of what you can expect from it. 

Let’s start with the work we’re doing on the episode itself, because I’m sure y’all are wondering what’s going on with it. Scout Squabble is a preeeetty big episode (bigger than our last update) and has a fair bit going on with it. We had taken some time off for the Holidays, but we’re actively back at it and getting things back in action.

Art

Let’s talk about what’s going on behind the scenes art-wise at the moment.

So, we’re doing things a little differently this time around, in that the order in which we’re working on assets has been switched around a little. Soul is going ahead and getting the sprites for the remaining main cast (and some other reoccurring characters) handled so we have them on hand for later. Then after that’s done, we’ll be knocking out assets for Scout Squabble (New CG’s, Mini CGs, Backgrounds, etc.). Doing things this way will actually expedite the development process of future updates by a little bit, which is cool!

Rodrick is actively working on the new tracks for the episode, which is always a lot of fun.

Writing.

My turn! So, I’ve got the episode and its sequence of events, choices, yadda, yadda, all charted and sorted. I’m actively working on the script for the episode itself and having a blast with it. I’ve been looking forward to this episode for a while and now that we’re here I’m having a time and a half with it. It’s a lot of fun introducing new characters, locations, and story elements into the mix. Once the script for the episode itself is completed I’ll be moving on to extra material (archive entries, armory entries, all that). 


Nerd stu—PROGRAMMING!

Irrelevant has been working on some new effects for Scout Squabble as well as going back through the already existing content and implementing a few new assets. Touching things up a bit.


Well…I think that about wraps it—but wait there’s more! 

We wanted to take a second here and give y’all a little sneak peek at a side project we started messing with over the Holidays. More information on that coming soon.
